Most brands don’t fail because they’re bad. They fail because they’re confusing.
If you’re wondering why growth feels slow or inconsistent, the problem usually isn’t your product, your service, or your work ethic. More often than not, it’s simply that people don’t understand you.
And when people can’t understand you clearly… they move on.
So, how do you get your ideal audience to know you? Not just who you are, but why you started, where you want to go, and how you can help them? Well, you have to start by defining these things for yourself.
Does Your Audience Really Know You?
When someone lands on your website or scrolls past your social media, what do they actually see? Is it a logo, a few photos, a couple of buzzwords?
If I may be frank… ANY company can do that. These things might be needed to look somewhat official, but it’s not enough to convince a viewer to trust you.
So, they leave. Not because you’re bad at what you do, but because they couldn’t get to know you. You never gave them a reason to believe you were right for them.
A Clear Brand Story Changes Everything
Alright, I think you get the point. You’ve got to start making yourself known. But how?
You start by defining your clear brand story.
I emphasize clear because some brands expand their stories without direction. While people do want to know who you are, especially after they begin to trust you (more on this later), your story has to be written and told in a way that captures a viewer’s attention within seconds.
To write your story in this way, answer these three questions about your brand:
- Who is this for?
- What problem do I actually solve?
- How can I make someone’s life better by following/choosing me?
This is a proven framework we’ve adopted to tell our own story (visit our website to see how), and one we’ve helped other companies use as well. And once you share this with your target audience, they’ll know exactly who you are.
Stories Make People Pay Attention
Remember, you don’t have to be the fastest growing, loudest shouting, rapidly posting brand in the world to capture audiences. Brands begin growing by explaining themselves intentionally.
And in a world where AI rules and everything seems to slip further and further into fake slop, we encourage you to be bold about who you are and the unique value you bring.
Because when someone connects to your real, raw story, something changes. They stop scrolling, lean in, and start paying attention. And that’s how you create a follower!
I hope that your brand begins to thrive by uncovering, writing, and sharing the story that already lives within it. And stick with us—more editions are on the way to help you grow your brand effectively.
Happy storytelling, Storytellers!
